The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are not likely to make any more acquisitions this offseason. Angels GM Jerry Dipoto told Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register, “If we’ve made our last move of the offseason, we’re perfectly fine with that.” Dipoto and the Angels made three moves at the Winter Meetings this offseason.
The Angels dealt long-time second basemen Howie Kendrick to the LA Dodgers for newly acquired lefty Andrew Heaney. Kendrick hit .293 with 75 RBI’s and 7 home runs in 157 games for the Halos last year. The Dodgers had just dealt away their second basemen, speedster Dee Gordon to get Heaney among others from the Miami Marlins. Heaney went 0-2 with a 5.83 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 7 games in his first season with the Marlins last year.
