Just weeks after signing Giancarlo Stanton to a huge 13-year, $325-million extention, the Miami Marlins are back at it again. This time, Miami is trying to lock up right-handed ace Jose Fernandez. Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported that the Marlins gave Fernandez a six-year deal worth about $40-million.
Fernandez has been the top of the rotation type of guy. He won the National League Rookie of the Year in 2013, but in May, 2015 he went down with Tommy John surgery that will keep him out till July, 2015 at the latest.
