ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The rosters for the 2014 Major League Baseball All-Star Game are out, and St. Louis area baseball fans have some “locals” to cheer for.
St. Charles native Mark Buehrle was selected by his peers. The Toronto Blue Jays pitcher will be making his 5th All-Star Game appearance.
“After the past couple of years, I didn’t think it was ever going to happen again. The older I’m getting, the prime is kind of in the past, and I didn’t realize it was going to happen. But it’s always an honor to go for two fun, jam-packed days. I’ll go and soak it up and try to have some fun,” said Buehrle.
Cardinals relief pitcher Pat Neshek is a Minnesota native, so this year’s contest at Target Field is a sort of homecoming for him. It will be his first All-Star Game.
