wpid-img_20140616_151824120.jpgThe Cardinals open a three-game series against the Mets tonight, with the game scheduled to be shown on both Fox Sports Midwest and ESPN. First pitch is at 7:10 pm CT.

St. Louis is coming off a sweep of the Nationals, which improved the club to 18-2 against the National League East at Busch Stadium since the start of the 2013 season. During that stretch, the Cardinals have outscored those East opponents, 89-43.

Jon Jay, who continues to produce and assert himself as the Cardinals’ primary center fielder, moves up to the No. 2 spot in the lineup as Mike Matheny looks to take advantage of his on-base percentage (.358). That, in turn, drops Kolten Wong to the eight-hole. Wong was hitless in 16 at-bats until he tripled on Sunday.
