The Mariners have signed reliever Mike MacDougal to a minor league deal and will assign him to Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
MacDougal, 37, had been pitching for the Camden Riversharks of the Atlantic League. He allowed one run in four innings of work, striking out seven without issuing a walk. MacDougal spent 2013 in the minor league systems of the Phillies and Reds, but hasn’t been in the big leagues since 2012 with the Dodgers. In 5 2/3 innings with the Dodgers, he allowed five runs with a 4/6 K/BB ratio.
